The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met for its organizational meeting on Thursday.

The board held the first meeting of 2025 as a resolution was approved to appoint Kim Chapman as the new Chair for this year. Items on the agenda that were approved included several resolutions for board assignments, official depositories, official newspapers, and a resolution for the Eminent Domain Commission.

Other items that were approved pertain to appointing Dallas County Engineer Al Miller and Assistant Engineer Andy Case to the Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance Technical Committee, and Dallas County Planning and Development Director Murray McConnell and Miller to the Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Committee. 

Also, a resolution was approved for the 2025 Construction Evaluation for the Department of Natural Resources. The board did table a custodial contract amendment that will be taken up at the next regular meeting this coming Tuesday. 

The board then adjourned the meeting and held a drainage district meeting where they accepted a pay application for Drainage District 41 in the amount of $116,713 and a change order for $5,900.
