A school in Dallas County is going to a world wide competition in the second half of January for the first time ever.
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School Cheer Team recently made school history as they qualified to the National Cheerleaders Association competition, taking place in Dallas, Texas. According to Cheer Coach Kaitlyn Reams, this is the school’s first time making it to Nationals after punching their ticket during regionals on December 21st. She is super proud of her team’s work ethic.
“They put a lot of work into it. So, just seeing something that they may have never done before. So it’s a huge deal for us and I’m excited to take this team because they deserve it so much.”
Reams says that the 2024-25 season began in October as they traveled to Carlisle, participated in the Heartland Championships in Ankeny, the Triton Challenge in Fort Dodge, and the state competition at the Jacobson Building at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel. There are 13 girls who will be competing at Nationals at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, which is set for January 24th-26th.
