2023 Greene County High School graduate Jesse Miller stopped by the KGRA Radio studio recently. A redshirt freshman tight end on the U. of South Dakota football team, Miller arrived in Vermillion just as the program reached its greatest heights. After he committed to USD in 2022, they went 3-8, but since he’s been on the team the Coyotes reached the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoff quarterfinals in 2023, then advanced to the semifinals this season.

Miller didn’t see action in every game, but his role increased as the season went on. Primarily a blocking tight end, he played in the key games down the stretch including the upset victory over North Dakota State, and all three of USD’s playoff games.

With three seasons of eligibility remaining, the future appears bright for Jesse Miller and USD football.
