As school starts back up for the second half, Greene County Superintendent Brett Abbotts assures the community about safety concerns following a threat.

According to a press release, Abbotts says that the district is aware of recent rumors about a potential threat to Greene County Middle School. He confirms that after working alongside law enforcement, there is no credible danger to the school. Abbotts notes that as students return to school on Thursday, plenty of officers will be present on campus to give an additional layer of security.

He is working with school administrators to stop any future threats and keep students and staff safe. Abbotts wants to thank the community for the continued support and is excited for the second half of the school year.
