The AC/GC Chargers boys wrestling team is ready for the start of the second part of their season.
Head Coach Lane Rumelhart says that the team is going to get back on the mats this weekend, as they hit the road to take on some unfamiliar teams. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio where the team is headed Saturday.
“We’re going to do a dual tournament we’ve never done before. We’re going to head over to the east side of the state. We’re going to wrestle some top ranked teams over there in Lisbon, Mount Bernards, (some) high 2A ranked teams, a couple others. We’re going to get five duels in on the east side teams you never usually see, and, you know, hopefully get some common opponent matches that really help us down the road when we look at state seating criteria and all that good stuff.”
Rumelhart mentions that once the team competes in the tournament, it’s back to the usual grind and usual opponents. Another competition they have coming up next week will be December 11th when they head to a tournament hosted by Tri-Center.
