Last night the West Central Valley Wildcat boys would split the decision against the Panorama Panthers basketball teams picking up a 55-48 victory against the Panther boys.
West Central Valley would seem to be firing on all cylinders last night at Panorama High School as the Wildcats would take the lead in the first quarter and never look back. The Wildcats would hold the Panthers to only 10 points in the first, while scoring 19 points of their own to secure a 9 point lead. In the second, the Panthers would begin to chip away at the lead, outscoring the Wildcats to bring West Central Valley’s lead to only three points, bringing the score to 27-24 at half.
Up by three, West Central Valley would begin to fire up again coming back from the break, keeping a six point lead scoring 17 points in the third to bring the score to 44-28. In the final quarter the Panther offense would begin to find the basket, but the Wildcat defense would continue to hold on, claiming a final 7 point victory with a final score of 55-48.
The Wildcat boys now sit at 2-5 while the Wildcat girls fall to 3-4. The Wildcat basketball teams are back in action tonight against the Madrid Tigers.
