The West Central Valley School Board met in regular session Wednesday night.
Superintendent Rusty Shockley says that they started off with a few organizational items, naming Mike Dickson to serve as Board President and Nile Godwin to be Board Vice President. Shockley tells Raccoon Valley Radio they then moved onto their discussion items.
“I mean, a lot of the discussion centered around our building projects, our career in tech building expansion, (an) additional locker room at the athletic complex, and then the auditorium addition that we’re looking into.”
Next, Shockley mentions that the Board approved an updated list of mid-term early graduates, a quote to purchase a new suburban, a School Budget Review Committee application for modified allowable growth, and the final pieces of the athletic complex parking lot project. They also tabled a decision on a stipend/incentive for teachers who teach a Des Moines Area Community College dual credit class, along with a decision on what path they want to take on the athletic director position.
