The Salvation Army Unit in Greene County is seeking volunteers for its final Saturday of its holiday fundraiser.

Bill Monroe with the local Salvation Army organization says the iconic Red Kettle campaign has been going on for the past four Saturdays at the Jefferson Fareway and Hy-Vee grocery stores, and this Saturday is the final time for bellringers to help collect funds. Monroe states that their local unit retains 90 percent of the money they raise for Salvation Army. He notes that in the previous fiscal year, almost $7,000 was donated, which was used to serve Greene County families and individuals with help paying for utilities, transportation and other needs.

Monroe explains that they are shooting for a goal of $7,500 to support a similar budget for next fiscal year. Volunteers are needed to help ring the bells for the Red Kettle campaign from 10am-6pm with several time slots available. To sign up, click the QR Code below or call 515-386-4925.
