The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is ready for Christmas break this year.

Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that they have several events planned for the week of Christmas, starting on Monday. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what children can expect on the first day of winter break.

“We are going to have a craft here at the library for the kids when they don’t have school that day. So that will be here at the library. It will just be anytime during our open hours that day they can come in and do a craft.

Hawkins mentions that the library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday in observance of Christmas, but that they will be back on December 26th. She adds that they will start that first day back with a showing of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at noon.
