On Monday the Panorama Panthers girls wrestling team traveled to Saydel High School for the Saydel Girls Wrestling Invitational. The Panthers found success throughout the competition, as Emma Walker would place second place in 170 after picking up multiple wins to advance to the first place competition.
Walker would take on Abagail Cubillo of Perry first in the Championship first round, defeating Cubillo by fall in 34 seconds. Walker would then face off against Jalon Olson of Clarinda and defeated Olson by fall in 3:14. In the Semifinals, Walker would defeat Betsy Jones of Interstate 35 to advance to the 1st Place Match where Walker would face off against Jasmine Newman of Johnston. Newman would defeat Walker by fall in 32 seconds to claim first place knocking Walker into second.
The Panther girls wrestling team is back in action on Thursday at Woodward-Granger High School for the West Central Activities Conference girls wrestling meet.
