The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.
The council scheduled a public hearing on January 20th on the proposal to enter into an amended sewer revenue loan and disbursement agreement and to borrow money not to exceed $30,014. Items on the agenda that were approved included two resolutions for the CDBG Upper Housing Conversion Grant with the total amount at $367,968, a pay application to acquire snow removal equipment from Van Wall Equipment for $30,604.25, a contribution to Hometown Heritage for repairs of damaged artwork of $1,500, a resolution to for the fiscal year 2026 five year airport capital improvement program, and a resolution to request a proposal for a redevelopment at 1110 2nd Street.
Additional approved items pertained to making Josh Wuebker as the City of Perry’s representative and Mike Landals as an alternate for the Beaver Creek Watershed Management Authority, making Wuebker the primary member for the North Raccoon River Watershed Management Coalition, as well as Wuebker being the point of contact for Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance.
Also, the city approved an agreement with Civic Plus to be the main provider for their website, authorizing an economic development grant to the Perry Chamber of Commerce Foundation Incorporated in the amount of $15,000, and a proposal from The Ingenuity Company for a Destination Marketing Strategic Plan not to exceed $28,875 to be split between the City of Perry, the Chamber and Perry Economic Development.
