The AC/GC Chargers hosted the AHSTW Vikings in non-conference action Monday night, and came away with a pair of wins.
The Chargers girls game started off slow, but the first quarter ended with AC/GC up 10-5, and a strong second quarter sent the teams into the halftime break with the Chargers leading 31-11. Another strong quarter in the third put AC/GC up 44-13 going into the final quarter, and the game ended with a 51-19 victory for the Chargers.
The Crafty’s Coffee Players of the game were Camdyn Richter and Meranda Gruber. Richter led the team with 22 points, once again knocking down baskets when the team needed her to. Gruber was a strong point off the bench for the team, knocking down a couple of crucial three pointers when the team seemed to be in a stale spot, and collecting on a big and one play.
The boys team had another big game, starting off with a 23-11 lead going into the second quarter, and into the halftime break up 39-26. A big third quarter extended the lead to 53-34, and a massive scoring front in the final quarter gave the Chargers the 82-48 victory. Payton Policky was the Crafty’s Coffee Player of the game, finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds, his third double double in four games.
The girls move to 5-0 on the season, with the boys hitting 4-0. The next game for the teams will be Friday night as they host the Panorama Panthers.
