The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference wrestling schedule started last night for the Greene County Rams with Coach Kirk Davis’ team hosting West Marshall (State Center) and Roland-Story (StoryCity). The Rams went 1-1 on the night and are 2-3 in dual meets this season prior to going to Ogden tomorrow for the Bulldogs’ dual meet tournament. The Rams lost 55-23 to WM and won 45-34 vs. R-S.

Forfeits were a factor that hurt the Rams as WM filled all 14 weight classes and the Norsemen had wrestlers at 13 weights. The Rams forfeited four weights in each dual meet while collecting just one forfeit on the night.

Greene County wrestlers going 2-0 last night were sophomore Brennan Jacobs at 106 lbs. with a fall and a forfeit, senior Jacob Harmeyer with two falls at 138 lbs., sophomore Degan Miller at 175 with a fall and a technical fall, and senior Marcus Ball with a fall and a decision.

It was Senior Night with seniors and their parents being introduced. Greene County wrestles in Jefferson just twice this season with the other home date in February.
