An annual fun holiday program will be taking place tomorrow within the City of Perry.
The Perry Police Department will be holding their Shop With A Cop event that will see officers accompany kids to buy gifts. According to Perry Police Officer Alex Lott, children will meet up at Perry Elementary School and then will travel to several businesses in town featuring Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, amongst others. He reveals that this will be year number six for him doing this program and is happy to give back to his hometown.
“I grew up here and just knowing that every single business owner to the small town, small guys, people are always trying to lend a hand to this thing. And, at the end of it, it’s seeing kids and their families happy, and for those kids and those families, it’s a good feeling, helping another person out any way we can.”
Perry Police Officer Emily Onnen shares that approximately 25 children will be participating in the event to buy presents for family members.
