The Dallas County Foundation is currently taking applications for the 2025 grant cycle.
Board Member Lynn Ubben tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the foundation was orchestrated in 2005 when the Iowa State Legislature created the Endow Iowa Program. She explains that counties without gaming facilities can receive funding from the state. Ubben details that the board has given out $1,955,000 to support 350 projects in Dallas County.
“These grant dollars have been used to enhance large and small community organizations throughout the county. I think sometimes people wonder how these foundations existed, and of course it was for those of us who did not have a casino to be able to benefit from some of those funds to better our counties and communities.”
Ubben shares that the foundation has awarded past grants to the Dexter Fire and Rescue, the Dallas County Fair Association, Perry Rotary Club, the Minburn Library, and the City of Bouton for the Trailhead connection between the Raccoon River Valley Trail and the High Trestle Trail. She says that the deadline to submit 2025 grant applications will be on February 3rd. To find more information or to apply, click here.
