A high school in Dallas County brought home some hardware after winning in the state dance competition.

Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School recently was apart of the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association’s state competition on Friday in Des Moines. The team participated in three categories of Pom, Contemporary, and Hoopla. ADM placed fourth for Pom, received a division one rating (highest level of achievement) for Contemporary, and was named the state champs for Hoopla. Head Coach Jana Morrissey expresses her excitement for the girls.

“They should be proud. We definitely had routines that went off without a hitch. We came off very proud, very confident, minimum bobbles, and I think that’s what we’re looking for, so it was just nice to see them rewarded then at the end of the day with some trophies and hardware to go alongside of it, and I just hope it’s some memories that they can carry forever.”

ADM won over Sioux City West and Storm Lake in the Hoopla category. Morrissey reveals that the team will train for the National Dance Alliance competition in January, then a showcase at the end of February. She welcomes people to come watch the dance team at ADM Basketball games during the winter.
