Jayette basketball starts the season 3-0 after knocking off Ogden last night in Perry, 51-41. This is the first time Perry has started a season 3-0 since 2021. The first quarter was a game of runs. Ogden scored the first 5 points. Perry would answer with the next 13. The Jayettes took a 13-11 into the second. Both teams struggled in the second to score. Missed shots and turnovers plagued the quarter as each team scored four points, 17-15 at half. Three made 3’s propelled Perry to a 10 point lead heading to the fourth, 39-29. Final 51-41
Lily Myers had a team high 23 points for a third straight game. Taryn Nehring chipped in 13 points.
Perry sits at 3-0 ahead of tonight’s clash with West Marshall. The Jayettes are 1-0 in the Heart of Iowa Conference and the Trojans are 0-1. Tipoff is set for 6P and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will have the broadcast.
