Between today, tonight, and tomorrow, every Greene County High School Winter sports team will be in action. The flurry of activity will cap the first full week of the season.

The Ram wrestlers are in action this afternoon, tonight, and tomorrow, at the Cliff Keen Independence Invitational in Buchanan County. The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio he plans on taking just seven wrestlers to the 30 team, five state event. The rest are going to a Saturday JV tournament at Winterset, or are on the injured list.

Greene County plays basketball tonight in Des Moines at Grand View Christian and the Thunder’s new McWilliams Center. It opened partway through the volleyball season, and tonight marks the first varsity basketball games in the new venue. Following six quarters of JV boys’ action, KG98 will broadcast the varsity girls, set for 6 p.m., followed by the varsity boys. Both contests will be streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Tomorrow, it’s Greene County bowling in a Baker tournament in Osceola, hosted by Clarke Community. Both the girls and boys teams will take part. It’s the second action of the season for the Rams, and this will be the second trip to Osceola, some 90 miles from Jefferson. The Rams opened the season on Nov. 25 vs. Clarke with the boys winning and the girls losing.

Greene County has two students on the Carroll boys’ swim team. The Tigers swim tomorrow at the Boone Invitational.
