The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board heard from Region XII Council of Governments Zoning Administrator for Guthrie County Chris Whitaker on revisions to the county zoning ordinances that he was suggesting, and will review those recommendations before making a final decision. They also heard from State Street Insurance Owner Becky Benton on an annual Iowa Community Assurance Pool (ICAP) meeting she took part in, and approved a quote for renewal of a coalition cyber liability policy.
The Board then approved the abatement of taxes for a parcel of land in rural Menlo, along with the purchase of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and the use of $50,000 from opioid settlement funds by the Guthrie County Public Health Department to bolster mental health services in conjunction with Guthrie County Hospital. They also approved the promotion of Todd Plowman in the Secondary Roads Department to Maintenance Supervisor at the recommendation of Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern.
