Coach Tom Kennedy’s Paton-Churdan girls’ basketball team began the 2024-25 season last night in Churdan vs. Orient-Macksburg in non-conference play. The visiting Bulldogs built a 44-17 halftime lead and went on to win by a 63-43 final.
Sophomore Kaliyah Minnehan scored a career best 24 points for the Rockets and sophomore Ella Tasler added 10 points, also a career high. The rest of the team scored nine points. Minnihan had nine goals from two point range, three from behind the three-point line, and a trio of free throws. The Rockets played without sophomore Alivya Smith due to injury. Smith was the leading scorer and rebounder last season for P-C.
O-M had 22 points from Emma Boswell with Mattison Thompson adding 16 points and 12 from Ella Boswell.
