Jayette basketball kicked the season off last night as Des Moines Hoover came to Perry. In the first game of the season, Perry grabbed the victory 51-14. The Jayettes started out hot. Playing tremendous defense, they took a 15-2 lead in the first. The lead would grow to 22 at half. Pulled away in the third, 39-11. Final 51-14.
Perry was led in scoring by sophomore Lily Myers with 19 points. Karagyn Whelchel also had an impressive game scoring 13 points.
The Jayettes improve to 1-0 and will take on Greene County a week from today on December 3.
