The Perry Public Library is gearing up for a winter event tailored towards the adults coming up on Monday, as the deadline to register ends soon.
The library will be holding an Open Book Winter Scene Craft Club to give adults an opportunity to decorate for the holiday season. Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer explains that participants will learn how to transform a book into a 3D winter creation. She notes that the idea came from Museum Librarian Candi Coffin, and gives a glimpse into the program.
“She’s taking books that are being recycled and carving out the inside and using them as a diorama scene, and using little figurines and things to make little displays for the winter.”
Farmer mentions that the event is taking place in the community room at the library from 6-7:30pm on Monday. The program is free to attend, but requires registration by Friday. Any questions can be directed to the Perry Public Library at (515)-465-3569.
