A big celebration is just around the corner in the City of Perry, with registration going on now.
The Perry Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for their annual Lighted Holiday Parade, set for next Friday, November 29th. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that registration is open to those that want to be apart of the festivities. She describes that not only are businesses able to join, but extends the invitation to anyone that’s in the holiday spirit.
“And that looks like decorating vehicles with lights, and animatronics, and whatever you want to think about doing or just walking the parade and things.”
Pasutti adds that a special sponsor from 2023 will once again be helping out this year with prizes as additional incentives for entries.
“We have the Carsten’s Family Foundation again donating to sponsor the event and to help boost it up. So instead of $150 between three businesses or organizations, we have a total of $750 to work with for prizes, so that means that the first place will get $350, and second place will get $250, and third place will get $150.”
Pasutti invites everyone to come out and comments that there is a good turnout of people every year regardless of the weather. Perry’s Lighted Holiday Parade is happening on 2nd and 3rd Streets starting at 7pm. To register, contact the Perry Chamber of Commerce at (515)-465-4601.
