Jasmine Atkins, age 26, 926 Oakridge Dr, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was Theft 3rd Degree.

Maria Alvarez Vazquez, Des Moines, was traveling south on N Ave at Overton Circle when she stopped for animals crossing the road.  This caused a collision with a vehicle traveling behind Ms. Vazquez, driven by Joseph Medearis, Blue Springs, Mo.  Both drivers were checked by EMS at the scene and refused treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.  Ms. Vazquez was cited for Unsafe Stopping and No Valid Driver’s License.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
