The Adel Parks and Recreation Department is hosting an activity on Saturday related to the big holiday in November.
The organization is welcoming children and adults to the Thanksgiving Free Throw Turkey Toss. Recreation Supervisor Ramona Dillinger shares that the competition will be split up into five different age groups ranging from 8-18 years old. She says the teams will consist of two people, with one being over the age of 18 that are in the same family. Dillinger notes that if a family of four members are interested in participating, then each parent can shoot with a different child, or one parent can take turns shooting with the individual child.
She describes that the winning team in each division will win a gift certificate for a free turkey at Fareway in Adel. The program is free and does not require registration, and is taking place at the District Administration Center Gym Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
