
Greene County Medical Center will soon have a new provider for one of its services.
According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Laurie Connolly, Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner Karen Luken of the Iowa Digestive Disease Center in Clive will be at the medical center in Jefferson the third Wednesday of the month, starting this coming Wednesday. Dr. Connolly is excited to have Luken visit the medical center with her extensive gastrointestinal medicine background. According to the medical center, Luken will see patients with chronic abdominal pain with unknown causes, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation or diarrhea, among other illnesses.
The Buffalo Center, Iowa native Luken earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Drake University and her ARNP master degree in nursing from Creighton University. She has been with the IDDC since 2015, and previously was affiliated with the Gastrointestinal Associates and Veterans Association.
Call the medical center to schedule an appointment with Luken at 515-386-2488 Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm every third Wednesday of the month.
