The Perry Bluejays struggled to a 2-7 record.  In the first year of Josh Vannornam, Perry fell in their last 6 games including all 5 District contests.  All District teams were recently announced for District 6 in 3A.  Perry had 10 guys receive recognition.  Only one was on First Team, senior Alec Burgin.  Playing mostly defensive back for the Bluejays, Alec had 37 tackles which was second on the team.  He also recoded one sack.  Alec made a big jump between his junior and senior campaign.  As a junior, he didn’t appear on any of the All District Team then exploded to be First Team.  The Bluejays also tried to get Alec the ball on offense.  He had one TD catch for 70 yards in the loss to Knoxville and passed for 153 yards in the defeat to Creston.
