As the first week of practices continue for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls basketball team, head coach Adam Jones reflected on last years season, and the teams drive to return to the state championship. Last season, the Mustangs ended their season during the state quarterfinals, falling to North Polk 48-42.

Coach Jones expressed how the team is motivated to return to the state tournament expressing, “Yeah I think that over the last you, know three to four years we’ve had quite a bit of success and just that success that you’ve had, kind of breeds success and I think that when you get a taste of playing in the state tournament you definitely want to get back. But hopefully it’s just something that we’ve kind of created here at dcg is that you know that’s the ultimate goal and it’s happened a little more frequently here the last few years so, continuing that challenge and then trying to get to that point is definitely motivational for for all of our players and those that were fortunate enough to be on the team last year kinda have maybe a little bit of added motivation to get back.”
