Basketball season quickly approaches across the state as the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls had their first official practice on Monday. Head coach Adam Jones, in his tenth year as head coach for the girls, reflected on the Mustangs first couple of practices so far.
When asked what the focus of the first initial practices would be, coach Jones responded, ” a little bit of everything. Yeah, we’ve been working on the fundamentals. It has been fun getting everyone back in the gym together. Throughout the summer and the fall you get to see certain players in the gym but you don’t have your whole team together very often. So it’s good to be back together. We definitely worked on some fundamentals, work on our endurance and conditioning some, then just getting used to finding your identity as a team.”
The Mustangs prepare for action next week as the Ballard Bombers come to Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Friday, November 22nd.
