With basketball season on the horizon for the West Central Valley Wildcats girls, and the Achieve scrimmage scheduled for Tuesday in Atlantic against the Trojans, coach Durivenga took some time to reflect on the importance of team dynamic for incoming freshmen on the team.

“I know the freshmen felt like, ‘oh this is really hard’ and so on but then I had the seniors tell them (the freshmen) when they started as a freshmen how good they were and they tell them  how they (the current seniors) were not very good at all. They were really bad fundamentally wise. And they try to reinsure the freshmen that “you are better than us at this age”.

With time not on their side as practices begin to dwindle before the season officially begins, coach Durivenga plans on using his senior leadership to bridge the gap and motivate the freshmen.
