The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center has an important holiday event that begins later this month.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that they have a few events planned, including their weekly story hours on Fridays. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they are also getting ready for their Festival of Trees.
“We’re looking for businesses, organizations, or even families that would be willing to bring in a Christmas tree and decorate it here at the library to help make the library beautiful for the holiday season and just to show off your nice tree to the community. The theme this year is ‘Christmas Stories.’”
Hawkins mentions that with the theme, those that decorate the tree can follow their favorite Christmas stories, like Contact the library in Guthrie Center to register a tree and learn more about the program.
