The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.
The first item was an update on the new administration building in Adel with Turner Construction. The contractor told the Board that some county departments have already moved into the facility and that the supervisors will be able to transition to their new offices next week. Following the update, the board approved the certificate of substantial completion to Workspace Incorporated as well as a pay application for $472,066.01 to Turner Construction.
Several additional items that the board approved were related to the criminal court building. Those included several pay applications relating to the criminal court building, with $19,830.18 going towards the building itself, $18,224.12 for the Secondary Roads administration addition, $23,985 for courthouse renovations, $14,410.33 going towards the evidence building, and $6,240 for the 902 Court Office renovation.
Also, a resolution was approved to replace two F450 Super Duty trucks in the amount of $266,518 for the Secondary Roads Department, in addition to a resolution to appoint a Des Moines Township Clerk, and 2025 Bike Trail rehabilitation project to finish phase four by completing all the bridges within Dallas County on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. The board set a public hearing for the fiscal year 2025 budget on November 19th at 9:30am. The meeting ended in a closed session.
