With the high school cross country season now over, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Cross Country Head Coach reflects on how he thought his team did throughout the year.
Coach Josh Chapman’s Tigers boys team finished the season qualifying for the state meet for the fifth consecutive year, as they placed ninth overall out of 15 teams at last weekend’s meet. Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the goal coming into the season was to finish inside the top 10 state in Fort Dodge. ADM was led by senior Torin Timmerman for much of the year, and tallied a 42nd overall place in a field of 142 runners at state. Chapman says that Timmerman has been a reliable athlete for the past four years.
“He’s run the state meet ever since he was a freshman, so for him it was really exciting. It was kind of the bookends of a great high school career, and (he) came up ready to run.”
Chapman finished his fifth season as the Tiger head coach and notes that he’ll help the distance runners stay in shape during the winter months in preparation for the track and field season in the spring. ADM says goodbye to 10 seniors including Timmerman, Isaac Chapman, Shay Holdmeyer, Keegan Holdmeyer, Patrick Lee, Riley Milburn, Ryland Moss, Brycen Timmer, Tate Truitt, and Luke Yanacheak.
