Noah Hinote’s third straight appearance as a State Cross-Country Meet was the highlight of the season for the Greene County Rams. Coach Jeff Lamoureux completed his eighth season leading the Greene County girls and boys. In four of those seasons the Rams have qualified an individual for State competition. Haley Hall in 2017 and the three appearances by Hinote are Lamoureux’s State qualifiers.
The coach talked about the 2024 campaign with Raccoon Valley Radio. “We certainly had some highlights, led by Noah making it to State for a third time. At the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet, Noah and his brother, junior Carter Hinote, both were on the All-Conference team, which was a highlight. We had some younger runners show a lot of promise on the boys’ side, but also on the the girls’ team with freshman Riley Mowrer being our number one runner all season long.” Lamoureux added have two seasons of not having enough girls to qualify for a team score, this season there were five girls, the minimum needed for a team score.
