Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Program Director Shelby Van Horn is ready to get things started, and have programs going at the Extension.

Van Horn mentions that part of her passion for agriculture includes teaching others about it, whether they’re youth who can be in 4-H, or their parents. She says that part of what she wants to include programming for all ages, with events planned for youth in conjunction with Youth Coordinator Rachel Blum, along with events for adults in the county to attend as well. Van Horn adds that she is excited to have met as many people as she has already, and even more excited to get to know even more of the residents in Guthrie County through events that she has in the works.
