During one of the final post game interviews with Coach Scott Heitland, head coach of the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team, coach Heitland began to reflect on the Mustangs season in comparison to their final game of the season, against the Lewis Central Titans.

The Mustangs fell to the Titans at home in their final game of the regular season, 49-8, ending their season at 2-7 and ending their dreams of entering the playoffs. When reflecting on the season, coach Heitland said, “I think Friday night’s game probably encapsulates our entire season. At different moments you saw some absolutely outstanding and amazing efforts and performances at times on Friday nights and then you saw some times Friday nights where you stop and you think yourself what just happened or, you know, maybe what were they thinking moments. I think when you when you look at that it’s just was something that was part of of who we were as a football team where we just couldn’t seem to get out of our own way.”
