The Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team wrap up their season at 2-7 after falling to the Lewis Central Titans 49-8. To begin the season, the Mustangs would originally plan to run a dual quarterback system, with Senior Tate Perrin sharing the field general responsibilities with sophomore Chase Engel.
Perrin would injure his ankle early in the season, causing Engel to assume the responsibility as quarterback. The sophomore would pass for a total of 1256 yards this year, averaging 10.9 yards per competition. Engle would go 115/224, with 7 touchdowns and 8 interceptions this season. Although Engel would finish the season with negative rushing yards with -46 in 13 carriers, Engel would have one rushing touchdown for the Mustangs.
Engel would play in every game this season, and would guide his Mustangs to two victories this season, a shut out 55-0 homecoming win over the Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson Yellowjackets and an emotional 18-16 victory over the Winterset Huskies.
