With less than one week until the Presidential Election, one federal lawmaker weighs-in about election security.
US Senator Chuck Grassley says Iowans should not worry about issues with election security in 2024.
“And I speak with great confidence that voter fraud in Iowa is very, very rare. There’s been a couple recent prosecutions going back a couple of elections. But nothing very great that you’d question the outcome of an election.”
Grassley feels that the ballots will be counted fairly in Iowa and that we will know who the winners are on the night of the election. He believes that the Republican Party seems to get a bum rap about election security, but the Democratic Party had also challenged the number of electoral votes in the 2000, 2004 and 2016 Presidential Elections. So he thinks that just because everyone is focused on the Republicans talking about election security, the Democrats have a track record of doing the same thing.
