Five high school students from Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn will participate in the Iowa High School Music Association All-State Festival in the latter half of November.
The All-State auditions were held this past Saturday as two students from Perry High School and three students from ADM High School have made it through to the All-State Competition. According to Perry Band Director Blaine Schmidt, Isaiah Christensen (pictured above) was ultimately selected for first trombone after being recalled as one of the five trombones. In addition, Olivia Christensen was recalled and selected as an alternate on oboe for the All-State Orchestra ensemble.
The ADM Choir Director Daniel Novotney shares that Andrew Nelson qualified for first tenor , Amanda Gustafson (pictured below) made it for clarinet in All State Band, and Patrick Lee was selected for flute as an alternate for All State Band. Novotney says that Nelson and Gustafson advanced as first time All Starters, given that they are both freshmen. The Iowa High School Music Association All-State Music Festival is set to take place November 21st-23rd at Iowa State University in Ames.
