It is an exciting time for the Panorama Panthers cross country team as the Panther girls team advances to the state meet on Saturday as a team, while Noah Poldberg will be the lone Panther to represent the boys at the state meet. To qualify, Poldberg would cross the finish line in third place at the state qualifying race hosted by ACGC High School on the 24th, with a time of 17:42.2 seconds and needed to place in the top 15 to qualify as an individual.
This is Poldberg’s second year running for the Panthers and his second year attending the state race. Poldberg mentioned that his goal last year was simply to make it to the state meet, but this year he hopes to get some hardware. When talking about Poldberg, coach Thompson said, “a secondary goal for him that he has been chasing all season is to break 17 minutes; he wants to run a time that starts with 16. ”
Poldberg represents Panorama on Saturday at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge for the state cross country race. The boys begin at 11:15am.
