The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council approved replacing a section of water lines near West Church Street and Southwest 2nd Street after hearing from Public Works Director Ismael Galvan on an investigation he conducted in the area. He shared that he found that the recommended section of line is galvanized, which would cost $10,000 to replace.
The Council also approved a payment of $86,000 for Community Development Building Contract 23-HSGU-005 and took no action on a request by the Park and Recreation Board for the purchase of a vending machine at Michael Mills Park, as while they agreed it would be beneficial to the park, they were worried about insurance payments in the instance that the machine is broken in to, which they agreed if one was approved it would be a matter of when, not if, that would happen.
The Council then approved the renewal of health insurance premiums for City employees and a professional services agreement with Stanley Consultants, Inc.
