The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Volleyball team is gearing up for the Class 4A Region 7 Championship game tonight, as they make the long road trip to Glenwood High School, 504 East Sharp Street.
The Tigers are taking on the Rams tonight for an opportunity to head to the state tournament next week. ADM is coming off a Semi-final victory over the Winterset Huskies in three sets, while Glenwood defeated Creston in three sets as well. The Tigers are currently 19-7 overall (8-0; 1st place in the Raccoon River Conference) and the Rams are 35-6 (9-1; 2nd place in the Hawkeye 10 Conference). The two teams only have met once in 2017 in a regular season game, where Glenwood won in five sets. ADM Head Coach Trevor Irwin is expecting a competitive battle.
“We are anticipating a dogfight. We’re anticipating this to go to five sets, we have been talking about what is that going to take for us physically, what is that going to take from us mentally as well. How can we play the best volleyball for the longest amount of time.”
The winner will clinch their spot in the state tournament, which begins Monday at the Xtream Arena in Coralville, IA. Tonight’s game will set off at 7pm at Glenwood High School.
