The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards discussed security in their most recent meetings in the last few months.

Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that during one meeting, he discussed with the two Boards that he and some other district administrators met with law enforcement and discussed different ways that the buildings in the district could be safer, and created some safety plans. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they also discussed sharing access to their security camera feeds.

“Guthrie County dispatch will be able to log into our camera systems. They’re virtual, so they’ll have a username and password, in case of any incident where that may help us help them, maybe get to the right place in a more efficient and quicker way. Sometimes a matter of minutes could make a big difference.”

Rasmussen mentions that the AC Board also approved the purchase of a few new security cameras in their October meeting. He adds that there were a few places in the Adair – Casey Elementary and AC/GC Junior High building that would benefit from having the cameras added.
