A Grand Junction man was recently arrested for an alleged September incident.

According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call of a possible assault in the 200 block of 6th Street in Grand Junction at 10:33pm. During the investigation, the witnesses claimed there was a verbal argument that escalated to it being physical. Another witness told the deputy that she was going to call law enforcement and that’s when 28-year-old Joshua Blumberg got into a vehicle, backed it up and accelerated the vehicle, the witness thought that Blumberg was trying to hit them. Tire tracks in the front lawn corroborated the witnesses’ account.

Court documents show that when Blumberg was later questioned by the deputy, he denied being at the scene and driving the vehicle. However, the vehicle in question that was described by the witness was also parked near Blumberg’s home in Grand Junction, which was registered to Wilbur Bates; and a photo that was taken by a neighbor of Blumberg’s home on their Ring doorbell was very similar to the vehicle’s description that was used in the alleged threatening manner, and was taken at 10:30pm that same night. The witnesses at the scene can also identify Blumberg as the driver of the vehicle.

Blumberg was then charged with a Class D Felony for intimidation with a dangerous weapon and a simple misdemeanor for driving with a revoked license. A warrant was issued on October 11th and he was arrested on October 22nd and booked into the Greene County Jail, where he remains under a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
