Des Moines Christian was a first round Class 3A Region 7 volleyball winner over Greene County on Tuesday night at DMC in Urbandale. The Lions improved to 24-14 while the Rams ended its season at 12-17.

Scores were 7-25, 22-25, 21-25. The Lions completely dominated set one with scoring runs of 11-1 and 10-1. The second set saw the Rams lead 8-6, but a 7-1 run put the Lions ahead, although the Rams stayed close. Down by just one point at 22-23 and serving, DMC scored the next two points and winning the set. Set three began with the Rams trailing 6-13, but a rally put Greene County within a point at 15-16, but they got no closer.

The contest was the last for Ram seniors Hailey Carman, Emma Ewalt, Paton Kokenge, Violet Reedy, Ella Shipley, and Emma Shipley.
