The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Cross Country teams will be hitting the road tomorrow for the state qualifying meet.

The Tigers will be traveling to Harlan as they’re looking to place well ahead of the state meet in Fort Dodge. ADM is running in the district with Bishop Heelan, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, Carlisle, Denison-Schleswig, Glenwood, Grinnell, Harlan Community, LeMars, North Polk, Sergeant Bluff-Lutton, and Spencer.

The Tigers are eyeing to finish in a high spot among the 11 teams. ADM Boys Coach Josh Chapman explains that he’s trying to get the runners into the right mental space.

“It’s just keeping them tuned up and in race competition mindset. We taper off a little bit and get there bodies ready, but more so it’s that mental part of it is making sure that they’re mentally ready and still wanting to get out there and compete and be focused on the teams that we got to beat.”

ADM will be running at the Harlan Golf & Country Club, starting with girls at 4pm followed by the boys race at 4:30pm tomorrow.
