Part of the West Central Valley School Board’s October meeting was hearing about the year’s certified enrollment.

Superintendent Rusty Shockley says that in his report, he mentioned to the Board that the district’s certified enrollment was up by 16 students from the previous year, meaning that their certified enrollment number was 789.3. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio how that number is found.

“So certified enrollment numbers are based on the number of students you have resident in your district, minus all of your open enroll outs, and then you add back in any open enroll ins.”

Shockley mentions that their open enroll out students and open enroll in students were both lower than last year, and that they were the same amount of student for both categories, which evened each other out.
