The AC/GC Chargers remain undefeated in the regular season for the second straight year.

The Chargers started off with the game against the Southwest Valley Timberwolves with the ball, only the second time that has happened all season. The very first play was a quick rocket toss to junior running back Joe Crawford, who tore across the field to Chargers sideline before turning on the jets and sailing up the field all the way to the endzone for the first score of the game, only 16 seconds in. AC/GC then got a strong stop before taking the ball down once again and scoring, and then getting another stop. The second drive went 80 yards with a pair of 11 yard rushes from senior Brexton Schneider to start the drive, before the team made their way down the field for the third score of the game, which came off a 37 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Jathan South to Crawford to put the team up 14-0 heading into the second quarter. The Chargers then put up two more touchdowns, but missed the PAT on the final one to go into the halftime break up 27-0.

The Timberwolves started with the ball in the second half, but ended up fumbling the ball, and junior Carter Richter got the recovery. A big run by South made its way to the Timberwolves sideline, but the ball was stripped away before South was out of bounds, and Southwest Valley recovered. After getting yet another stop, the Chargers made their way down the field from the 14 yard line, with a couple of plays that got them close to Timberwolves territory, before senior fullback Mike Fuller put on some speed for a 55 yard gain. Another handful of plays and a one yard rush from Fuller put the Chargers in the endzone once again and the Chargers went up 33-0.

The second string took over from there, drawing out a long drive from the Timberwolves who were able to finally get into the endzone at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Chargers then put together a long offensive drive themselves, slowly and methodically marching down the field to collect the final score of the game. There was another drive by the Timberwolves, which ended up turned over on downs, and the Chargers put in a few plays to run out the clock, and win the game 40-7.

The Crafty’s Coffee Players of the game were Crawford on the offensive, with over 120 yards rushing plus a good amount of receiving yards, and Carter Richter on the defensive side, as he had the fumble recovery and has been at the top of the pack for tackles in the last several games.
