The Perry Community School District is providing a voluntary retirement package for the 2024-25 year.

According to Superintendent Clark Wicks, the early retirement bundle is a service that has been presented to employees over the course of 25 years. He notes that it is a common practice in the state of Iowa as he reveals the intent of the early retirement practice.

“It’s to help the school’s system general fund, so the board did pass the voluntary early retirement for the 2024-25 school year. The board will be taking a look at that, (and) we’ll see what happens with our early retirement plan.”

Wicks details that the applications for early retirement will need to be submitted between November 1st and November 7th.
