Coming off back-to-back 28 point losses to top 10 rated teams, the Greene County Rams enter week 7 of the high school football season in a must win situation if they are to be one of four teams from Class 2A District 8 to advance to the playoffs.

Coach Caden Duncan’s team plays Southeast Valley in Gowrie this Friday on KG98 and streamed at www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) is 3-0 in the district while Des Moines Christian and Roland-Story (Story City) are both 2-1. The Rams and Jaguars are both 1-2 with Saydel (Des Moines) at 0-3. Saydel is the one district team both Greene County and Southeast Valley have defeated. This Friday’s winning team is likely to be included when the postseason begins on Oct. 25, while the team that loses will probably be on the sidelines after week eight.

Coach Duncan went to high school in Gowrie and his father and father-in-law, live and work in that school district while coaching as assistants at Greene County. Friday night’s kickoff is at 7 o’clock.
